Bob was an icon like no other, every misfit has somehow found his door open to them only to come out a little better,a little wiser, and definetly more inspired. He’s the reason I climb trees to hang a gnome or a crudely painted tile. He will forever inspire all who knew him personally and those who hope to have his confidence and creativity in every action he made. I love Bob, I would not be here without him, and there will never be another that could compare. He will be missed….
Greetings,
Any idea what will happen to his art? I really want to curate an art show in his name at a downtown MKE hotel I work for. It would be awesome to invite anyone who currently owns any of his pieces to bring them.
I remember my wife & daughter making x-rated gingerbread men xmas tree ornaments (OMG) for Bob’s Triple X art show, held annually in an alley in downtown Milwaukee. I just ran across some photos the other day of Bob arriving at the show in a big red convertible(?) filled with objects d’art.
I met Bob and his typist (sidekick) Ed in the fall of 1975. We both lived at 117 North Randall Street across from Camp Randall Stadium in Madison (WI). Have alot of memories If it but most of all a picture that he gave me of himself and a model in the snow. Kept it all these years. Nice pic of how he looked in ’75.
