| She saw a television special on an artist who dressed his dogs in outfits and staged photographs. We presumed it was William Wegman. She started buying costumes for her dogs at rummage sales and dressing them up. She took color snapshots and mailed them to us. On Labor Day week-end, she and her husband invited us--along with a few other friends--over for drinks, dog watching, and fireworks. We made a photo inspired by her charisma and the bare, black ground the dogs loved. |
